New York Day 1

When we got back from our final dinner my last pillow present was on the bed.  It was a lovely book on Utah with a personal message from Shelli inside.  It is very heavy so will try and post it home.

Friday morning we boarded the bus for the last time to go to the Salt Lake City international airport for our trip to New York.  We had to say goodbye to the others at the airport as they were taking different flights, some going home and some travelling further.  The flight took about 3hrs 30mins and we took a yellow cab to our hotel, The Salisbury on 57 West Street.

We lost 2 hours due to the time difference and got to our motel about 6pm.  It is certainly not the St Regis but is very comfortable and we are only a few blocks from Central Park and Time Square.  We had Spaghetti and Meatballs for tea at an Italian Restaurant next to the hotel.

After dinner we went to the market over the road to get cereal for breakfast, milk and fruit.  The city is busy, noisy (sirens everywhere) but it has a real excitement.   I would hate to be driving here, the drivers seem to sit on their horns constantly.

Tomorrow we are going to get on the hop on hop off bus.

Cheers
Roz
